Description

Picea orientalis 'Skylands' Bold, but not gaudy, this full, upright spruce is an excellent choice for adding bright, year-round color to a large garden. Its fine, spiky needles emerge electric yellow in spring and gradually soften to a rich gold that stands out against the dark green, interior foliage. Trees develop slowly in the early years, but achieve a habit typical of the species in time. Best color in full sun, although protection may be warranted in scorching summer climates.

    Skylands Golden Oriental Spruce

    My tree arrived slightly smaller than anticipated (only reason for 4 vs. 5 stars), however, it was extremely healthy after shipping across the country. It put on beautiful new growth in the spring/early summer and with full sun (partly screened it the first summer) began to glow bright yellow by mid-summer. Very unique, beautiful tree.

    Shipped in excellent condition. Smaller than I expected for a 6 year old tree and under 3 feet, but I know these are slow growers. Overall I am happy with this tree needles are bright yellow on top and dark green underneath
