Chamaecyparis obtusa (common names include Japanese cypress, hinoki cypress or hinoki; Japanese: 檜 or 桧, hinoki) a species of cypress native to central Japan but also found in North America after being imported. Commonly used for bonsai, rock gardens, and urban landscapes.
