Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea Pendula' Weeping Purple European Beech Tree is more of a shrub than a tree, growing to about 10 feet tall. Branches normally sweep up and away from the center of the tree forming a mound of foliage. It is usually not trained to a central leader but could be trained this way to create a 'standard' type tree, also makes a fine specimen for small landscapes.  Deciduous. Prefers organic rich well drained soil.

It was planted by me according to instructions that I requested from Kigi nursery. It is small but hopefully I will keep it alive and well over the next full year.

I was hoping it would be larger but I have my fingers crossed that I will not kill it with too much kindness.
