Acer palmatum 'Beni maiko' Japanese Maple known for its intense red spring color. Leaves small and bright pink-red in late spring. Color fades in summer to green and pink. Small tree to 10 feet. 'Shin deshojo' and 'Osakazuki' are two cultivars that are similar in color. English translation of 'Beni maiko' = "Red Haired Dancing Girl". Also a good choice for bonsai and patio pot.
