Acer palmatum 'Iijima sunago' Japanese Maple with a dusting of tiny, green spots that develop in late summer on reddish-brown leaves, giving the appearance of having been sprinkled with sand, this is what the cultivar name means "Sand Sprinkled". Spring and early summer colors are rich, orange-red with green venation; in fall, a dramatic show of intense reds and yellows take over. Prefers organic rich well drained soil.
