Acer palmatum - Rhode Island Red

Posted by Richard Aubry on 21st Sep 2018

This was a very difficult tree to find on line so I am grateful I was able to obtain one. The only option for this specimen was a 2 yr plant after grafting. On arrival the specimen was well packaged and protected. Roots moist - the few leaves present had fallen off leaving only an 16" stem. It has a number of buds present and I know the dormant state does not indicate an unhealthy plant. I have planted it, will mulch and water carefully, cover heavily over the winter and hope it buds out and comes alive in Spring
