Ilex crenata 'Sky Pencil' A tall, slender, female holly with a distinctive, upright habit, makes an attractive structural feature in any garden or container, or it makes an unusual, slow-growing hedge. Dark green, glossy leaves are small and rounded. From Japan, by way of the U.S. National Arboretum, this selection should be about 5' tall and less than 1' wide in 10 years, but it can achieve 8 -10' in time. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil.
