Juniperus horizontalis 'Mother Lode' A dwarf golden variety of Creeping Juniper. Bright, golden-yellow foliage in spring and summer which transitions to rich, burgundy plum undertones during the winter give this extremely flat, ground-hugging juniper long-term garden interest. Discovered at Iseli Nursery in 1982 as a sport on 'Wiltoni', it performs admirably in full or partial sun. It grows slowly and forms an exceptional presence. Let it cascade over a bank, define a mound, or cover ground planted in masses. Use with other colorful plants for an exciting statement in the garden.
Bought two mother lode trees along with a weeping Blue atlas. They survived the trip to NJ but I thought they could have been packaged better instead of being in the same box (all 3 item) and the juniper bottoms being in plastic bags. No care instructions. They seem fine but stressed (a little beaten up) from the journey. FedEx is to blame to for pushing the delivery time back to the max allowed. And it has been hot. All in all, they are in decent-good shape. I look fwd to seeing them grow. I like the selection at Kigi.
Can't wait to see it spreading over my rock walls next year.
I purchase 3 of these junipers and all 3 were healthy and in good shape. They are doing well in my garden.
Love the yellow/green color. They all arrived looking great. Can't wait to watch them grow.
