Tsuga heterophylla 'Iron Springs' A slow growing upright cultivar of Western Hemlock. Short, dark-green needles contrast well with the light bark on the very irregular branches of this choice selection of Western Hemlock. It eventually develops a rigid, upright-broad habit, but it grows much slower than the species. Found at Iron Springs, Washington, and introduced by the University of Washington.

    Iron Springs Hemlock

Posted by Lowell on 25th Jul 2019

The plant arrived in good condition. It arrived about a week after the order, and that was acceptable. The plant looks healthy and my only slight issue was that the plant was a little smaller than I had expected. But this is a very slowing growing plant and will eventually be a nice addition to our yard. Also, it is a difficult plant to locate at nurseries.
